Makacoffee
About This Spot
Stepping into Makacoffee is like finding a familiar nook where the rhythm of the day slows just enough to breathe. Nestled along Jl. Anyelir in Balik Alam, this coffee shop blends the energy of a neighborhood hub with the gentle ease of an afternoon retreat. There’s a quiet hum that settles over the space—not rushed, but alive with the steady presence of locals coming together.
The layout tells its own story: a large parking area hints at its role as a meeting point beyond just coffee, while intimate indoor seating invites small groups to gather close. Outside, the open-air spots offer a chance to soak in the surroundings with purposeful simplicity, though the afternoon sun occasionally reminds you it’s no stranger here. Yet, these sunlit moments add a warmth that feels honest—part of the place’s authentic everyday charm.
The coffee itself feels grounded in local culture, with familiar favorites that speak to the tastes of the region. Think of a subtly sweet kopisusu aren gently paired with something like a strawberry cheesecake that adds just the right touch of indulgence to your pause. It’s the kind of combination that fits naturally into the rhythm of a meeting or a quiet moment alone.
What truly sets Makacoffee apart is the clientele it draws—a cross-section of everyday community life where workers from nearby industries mingle with long-time friends, each visit punctuated by easy conversation and shared familiarity. This blend of camaraderie and simple pleasure captures a slice of life in Mandau that’s both relaxed and distinctly local.
In all, Makacoffee is less about flashy pretenses and more about honest connection. It’s a spot where your coffee tastes a little warmer because the space around you feels lived in, and where the atmosphere encourages you to slow down, even if just for a moment, in the flow of the day.

This place has a huge a$$ parking area. Limited indoor seats, outdoor nongki spot. Can be a bit too warm during the afternoon due to the angle of the sun and not enough shades to cover my sweaty body but okay.

“Tongkrongan anak Duri!” Maka Coffee is the best spot you'll find in Duri for a great cup of coffee. Trust me, there's no better place to relax and enjoy a brew. Plus, you’ll see a lot of oil and gas workers there too haha
